The entry

A. P. Khomyakov and colleagues described burpalite in 1988 from the Burpala massif in North Transbaikal. Merlino and Perchiazzi solved its crystal structure in 1990 and showed it has order-disorder character, with stacking variants along one axis. Type material is split between Moscow, Pisa and London.
