Olomouc

A laboratory compound is named for a Moravian city.

Olomoucine was characterised by researchers at Palacky University in Olomouc and named for the city.

Named for Olomouc, but actually made in a small town called Lostice.

The cheese reached buyers through the markets of Olomouc, which is how the city's name stuck to it, while production settled up the road in Lostice, where a factory has run since the 19th century. It holds a protected European designation and is ripened from skimmed curd rather than enriched with cream.
