Puertopia
After Hurricane Maria in 2017, Puerto Rico's Act 20 and Act 22 tax exemptions drew cryptocurrency investors to San Juan, and a group around Brock Pierce talked of founding a city called Puertopia. The New York Times reported in February 2018 that they switched to the name Sol after being told Puertopia reads in Latin as eternal boy playground. The original word stuck anyway, as shorthand for the whole episode.
