Nicene Faith
Bishops summoned by Constantine met in 325 at Nicaea, now İznik in northwestern Turkey, and a council at Constantinople revised the wording in 381 into the text recited today. İznik later became famous for its ceramics, and the lakeside site of the council is now a quiet provincial town.
