The entry

It was isolated in 2000 from a rat caught near Las Tablas in Los Santos province, during an outbreak that had begun that January. Researchers named it for the El Choclo cantina nearby; choclo is Spanish for a corncob. Hantaviruses are conventionally named for where they turn up, as Hantaan was for the Korean river.
